How is Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo different from Batiste Spray Dry Shampoo?

Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo differs from our spray version in that it’s a non-aerosol form of dry shampoo. Both are starch-based and designed to refresh your hair between washes. The powder is a concentrated formula, meaning you need to use less of it. When applied to the roots, it gently removes oil and offers extra styling benefits like increased volume, revived style, and added body and lift at the roots.

How do I use Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo?

First, when you take the lid off the product, you’ll want to twist the dial to adjust it to your desired opening. We recommend partially covering the holes to control the flow of product.

Then, section hair and sprinkle the powder onto roots. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.

Tumble around with your fingertips to ensure roots are covered.

Finally, brush hair lightly to remove excess residue. Then you can style hair as desired!

Why is Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo more expensive than Batiste Spray Dry Shampoo?

Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo is a concentrated formula...so less is more! 1oz. of our Batiste powder is equivalent to four (4) of our 3.81oz. aerosol bottles.

No, Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo does not contain alcohol, isobutane, or propane.

Does Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo contain talc?

No, Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo does not contain talc.

Does Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo contain parabens, sulfates, SLS/SLES, or phthalates?

No, Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo does not contain parabens, sulfates, SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate)/SLES (Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate) , or phthalates.

Is Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo tested on animals?

Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo is best used between hair washes.  

Can Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo be used on pregnant women?

Batiste is not tested on pregnant women. We would recommend that she speak with her physician.

Should a consumer wash Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo out of her hair before she uses an at-home hair dye?

The consumer should follow the usage instructions of the home hair dye as this should specify if any prep is needed prior to use of the dye.  If it states that the hair dye can be used on unwashed/dirty hair containing product, then they can proceed.  If in doubt, we would recommend they contact the consumer service for the hair dye that is being used. 

Will use of Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo cause hair loss?

The main ingredient in Batiste dry shampoo is a type of starch powder from tapioca and corn starch that simply absorbs hair oils; this and the other ingredients have been used safely in many other cosmetic products for many years.  We always recommend using Batiste dry shampoo in between your normal hair washes.  As with any beauty product, whether it be on the hair, body or face, use only as directed and stop using it if any sensitivity occurs.

Can Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo be used on wigs or synthetic hair?

Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo has not been tested on wigs/synthetic hair, although we do not see why it cannot be used on wigs/synthetic hair.  

Is Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo gluten free?

Gluten is not an ingredient added in Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo, but we cannot guarantee that our formulas do not contain gluten.

Is the Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo Original fragrance the same as the Batiste Dry Shampoo Original variant in aerosol?

The fragrance used in Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo Original is not the same as the aerosol.

Why isn’t my Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo full to the top of the canister?

Batiste Powder Dry Shampoo is filled based on weight, not volume. We allow extra headspace in the canister for ease of filling and the nature of the product consistency. In addition, the powder is light and fluffy and prone to settling while in transport.
